Duda: Sentimos que faltou algo, mas mostramos nosso caráter

After the 2:2 draw in Nieciecza, Kacper Duda shared his thoughts on the course of the match, in which he was voted Wisła Kraków’s best player in the Socios Player of the Match poll.
The midfielder admitted that the weather conditions made things difficult for both teams, but despite everything, Biała Gwiazda felt disappointed after the final whistle. “It wasn’t easy. Both teams played in similar conditions, and of course the weather didn’t help. I haven’t seen so many accidental slips in a long time,” he admitted with a smile. “A draw certainly doesn’t satisfy us. We had our chances; I would even say that we dominated for a large part of the match. The opponent had fewer chances, but they knew how to take them,” he assessed.
During the contest, Wisła had to come from behind twice, which, according to the midfielder, shows the team’s fighting spirit. However, the player made no secret of his considerable disappointment at failing to score a winning goal. “Coming back into the match twice is a great feeling, but if we had sealed it with a win, it would have felt even better. Moments like these always motivate us and build the team. We knew we had to fight until the end and not let our fans down; that always motivates us,” he pointed out.
Duda could also celebrate an individual distinction: an excellent assist from a set piece. However, he admitted that he had hoped for more goals to come from such plays. “With these set pieces, it’s a bit of a success and a bit of a disappointment for me. I’m happy that I managed to deliver the ball for a goal, but we had quite a few of these situations and it’s a shame we didn’t turn more of them into goals. I think, though, that we are on the right track for free kicks and corners to become one of our strengths, especially judging by our recent matches,” he emphasized.
Questioned about the atmosphere in the locker room after the final whistle, the Wisła player made no secret of his emotions. “The disappointment is considerable, there’s no hiding that. If we had put our foot in a little better once or closed down the opponent more quickly, we would be returning with three points today. But what lifts our spirits is that our unbeaten run continues. We weren’t playing a weak opponent—they are also fighting for promotion to the Ekstraklasa—and yet we came back into the match twice. Now we have to learn from this game and focus on fighting for the full prize until the end of the season.” At the end of the interview, Kacper Duda highlighted the hugely important support from the fans, who were able to accompany the team at an away match after a longer break. “It’s fantastic; we had missed it. Our fans did not let us down—in moments, I genuinely felt as though we were playing at home. Their support gave us an extra boost. To be honest, without them, coming back from those deficits would have been much more difficult. I would like every away match of ours to look exactly like this,” he concluded.
