Alan Uryga after #KORWIS: I believed until the end that we would score that goal

Wisła Kraków drew 1–1 away to Korona Kielce, with Alan Uryga securing a point for the White Star late in the match. After the game, Wisła’s captain assessed the course of the contest, spoke about believing they could turn things around, and also addressed what happened after the goal was scored.
Alan, it was a difficult match. We were behind for a long time, but ultimately we’re taking a point back from Kielce. How do you assess the game from the perspective of the pitch?
From the perspective of the pitch, I’d say this: if we had failed to take any points from here, it would have been incredibly frustrating. I believe that, based on the course of the entire match, we absolutely deserved at least one point, and we could even have had more with greater composure in the penalty area or from set pieces. But that’s how it is—the circumstances are that we equalized at 1–1 in the final minute, so we’re all happy about that too.
Korona made things very difficult, packed the midfield, and pressed very high. Was that the most difficult aspect of this match?
I don’t think Korona particularly surprised us with the way they approached the game today. I had the impression—this is my immediate view and reflection—that the match gained momentum after the first half, because there was definitely less of that from them in the second half. That resulted from our simple, unforced errors. It wasn’t even down to the opponent’s organization or winning the ball back well, but perhaps to a loss of focus or concentration. That gives the opponent and their attacks momentum, so they wanted to take advantage of it, and they managed to do so.
Despite the unfavorable result, which lasted for a long time, we stayed in the game and kept attacking. From the pitch, could you feel that we would eventually finish an attack with a goal?
Yes, at least I had the feeling that we could score that goal at any moment, and I believed we would. As I said earlier, with greater composure and concentration, all those attacks could have ended with a goal, so I was counting on us eventually scoring. I believed until the end because the closing stages were quite intense, and we believed that the goal would finally come.
Congratulations on the goal. But I’d also like to ask about your health, because shortly after scoring it, you were lying on the ground. Is everything okay? You took a hit to the head, didn’t you?
Yes, I took some kind of knock. I don’t even know exactly what happened now, but I feel there’s a slight problem with my bite. But if that’s the price for a goal, it’s worth it.
